Crafting environments where people connect with God.
Not everybody wants to be in the spotlight, join the Tech Team and find a great place to use your gifts behind the scenes.
We have positions for all levels of experience and skill. Don’t let the technology in “Tech Team” intimidate you. Some positions are as simple as pushing a spacebar, other behind the scenes jobs don’t involve technology at all but simply shaping environments by building sets or being a stagehand.
DO YOU LOVE LISTENING TO MUSIC AND HAVE AN EAR FOR WHAT SOUNDS GOOD?
Why play just one instrument when you can control them all? From music to the message everything goes through the soundboard. It's a big job to make sure everything sounds as good as possible and can be understood.
DID YOU PICK YOUR FAVORITE COLOR BECAUSE OF HOW IT MAKES YOU FEEL? DO YOU HAVE AN EYE FOR COLOR AND CONTRAST?
Lighting can have a big effect on a service. Lights aren't only used to make sure we can see things; lighting can also be used to add depth, feeling, and emotion to services. Giving things a greater emotional impact.
DO YOU LOVE SINGING IN THE SHOWER? DO YOU BOP YOUR HEAD TO THE RADIO IN THE CAR?
These are vital skills to have for running slides. It is great practice for making sure you don't click to early or too late. Gone are the days of overhead transparencies or slide machines. Now it's all computers and laser projectors. This gives more freedom to make the slides about more than just the words on the screen.
HAVE YOU EVER WATCHED A MOVIE AND THOUGHT "WOW THAT WAS A REALLY NICE PANNING SHOT"?
Camera operators help us focus in more ways than one. First, they make sure things aren't blurry but at the same time centering on what is important. Whether someone is looking at the screens in the Worship Center or in their living room the camera operator shapes their experience.
ARE YOU THE MASTER OF CHANGING CHANNELS AT THE PERFECT MOMENT RIGHT WHEN YOUR SHOW COMES BACK FROM COMMERCIALS?
This is becoming a lost are in the days of DVRs and Netflix but it is still handy in the tech booth. Knowing which video source is the most important to show at what time is a great skill to have.
DO YOU LOVE DETAILS? DO YOU MAKE SURE THINGS START ON TIME AND ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE?
There are lots of details to the services and sometimes they change moments before we start. Help those on stage get to where they need to be, when they need to be there, and with everything they need.
DO TYPOS DRIVE YOU MAD? DO YOU HAVE STRONG OPINIONS ABOUT OXFORD COMMAS AND SEMICOLONS?
Slides have to show up and the right time but that is only part of it. Before the service even starts the slides have to be designed correctly. If a slide lacks proper design it has the potential to be more confusing than helpful.
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN CRAFTING AN IMMERSIVE ENVIRONMENT? DO YOU LIKE TO CRAFT THINGS OUT OF WOOD OR METAL? CAN YOU BUILD SCENES OUT OF LIGHT AND COLOR?
Stage designs are made of more than normal building supplies. They incorporate light and space. An amazing stage design can bring everything together. It helps connect the music to the sermon, it helps to connect the congregation to the stage, and most importantly it can help connect our hearts to God.
IF YOU HAVE INTERESTS, PASSIONS, OR GIFTS FOR TECHNOLOGY OR PRODUCTION WE CAN FIND A SPOT FOR YOU ON THE TEAM.
