Praise for Our God

1.     Praise Our God for His ____________! 1-6

Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!  The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel.  He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.  Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. 6 The Lord sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.

 Presence = Psalm 16:11:
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Power = Rom 1:20:
For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities – his eternal power, and divine nature. So, they have no excuse for not knowing God.

Priority = 2 Cor 5:21:
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

2.     Praise Our God for His _______! vs. 7-15

Sing to the Lord with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp.  8 He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills. 9 He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call. 10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior; 11 the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love. Extol the Lord, Jerusalem; praise your God, Zion. 13 He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you.  14 He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.

Planet = Job 37:14-16:
14 “Listen to this, Job; stop and consider God’s wonders.  15 Do you know how God controls the clouds and makes his lightning flash? 16 Do you know how the clouds hang poised, those wonders of him who has perfect knowledge?

People = 1 Pet 2:9:
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellences of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

3.     Praise our God for His ________! Vs 15-20

15 He sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.  16 He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.  17 He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast?  18 He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow. 19 He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel. 20 He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws.[b] Praise the Lord.

Potent = Ps 33:6-9:
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.  He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses.  8 Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him.  9 For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.

Personal = 1 Cor 2:7-11, 15-16:
No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.9 However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” the things God has prepared for those who love him.  10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.  The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. . .  15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
