There has been a change in plans!
Due to weather, this Wednesday, Oct. 2nd we will NOT be raking leaves in our neighborhood. Instead, we will be switching gears and partnering with Northland Rescue Mission’s Backpack Program!
The Backpack Program is designed to provide food for school-aged children who do not have access to food when they are home over the weekends. Last year over 700 children received a grocery bag every weekend filled with two breakfasts, two lunches, two snacks, two fruits and two juices. Children who don’t have enough to eat are able to have food throughout the weekend because of this program and those who invest in it.
Our GO Event is a way in which we can bring the hope and love of Jesus to those around us, so this Wednesday we will assemble these bags for kids here at church! Our goal is to prepare 1,000 bags of food for these children.
Please consider bringing on Wednesday night any of the following items:
Juice: Pouches or boxes (2)
Fruit: Fruit cups or applesauce cups (2)
Breakfast Items: Instant oatmeal packet or small boxes of cereal (2)
Snack items: Packets of fruit snacks, Nutrigrain bars, pretzels, chips, NO NUTS (2)
Main Meal: Ramen Noodles, mac’n cheese, can of soup, canned pasta (2)
We look forward to having an impact in our community! See you at HOPE on Wednesday at 6:30pm for our GO Event!
